96, of No. Ko­hala passed away peace­fully on Au­gust 30, 2017 at St. Therese Res­i­den­tial Care in Buena Park, Cal­i­for­nia. She was a home­maker in Halaula, HI, a creative seam­stress, won­der­ful cook and al­ways had a smile. She is pre­de­ceased by her hus­band Shin­toku of 74 years and daugh­ters Jane and Ge­or­gianne Kise. She is sur­vived by her daugh­ters Bar­bara (Gus) Ar­guello, Cyn­thia (War­ren) Mat­suda, 6 grand­chil­dren, 6 great grand-chil­dren, sib­ling Nobuichi Katekawa and many neph­ews and nieces. Me­mo­rial cel­e­bra­tions for both Shin­toku and Harue will be on Septem­ber 30, 2017, 10:30 a.m. at Ko­hala Jodo Mis­sion in Ka­paau, HI. No Ko­den. He grad­u­ated from Wa­ialua High School in 1956, served 12 years with the Hawaii Na­tional Guard mis­sile unit, and re­tired from GTE Hawai­ian Tel/Ver­i­zon af­ter 31 years.

He is sur­vived by his wife, Amy; son, Michael; three grand­sons, Dae­mon, Pono, An­thony; brothers, Richard (Momi), Lawrence (Wanda); sis­ters, Julita (Ray) Ford, Janet Stephens, and many nieces and neph­ews.

The re­mem­brance and cel­e­bra­tion of his life will be­gin at 9 AM, Thurs­day, Septem­ber 21, 2017, at St. Joseph’s Church in Waipahu, with Mass at 11 AM. Burial ser­vices will fol­low in Ka­neohe at Hawai­ian Me­mo­rial Park Ceme­tery, Hill­crest Sec­tion III at 2 PM.

Ser­vices will be held on Sun­day, Septem­ber 24, 2017 at Borth­wick Mortuary Down­town, Mau­nakea Chapel. Visi­ta­tion: 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.; Service over ashes: 11:00 a.m. to noon. Re­cep­tion to fol­low on Chapel lanai.
