Herringbone closes amid illness, report says
A popular new Waikiki restaurant in the International Market Place voluntarily closed Thursday due to suspected norovirus, Department of Health spokeswoman Janice Okubo told the Honolulu Star-Advertiser late Thursday night.
Hawaii News Now said three diners had fallen ill. Okubo said DOH staff has been working with the restaurant, but restaurant management decided to close to conduct a cleanup.
Laboratory tests are still pending, Okubo said. Herringbone said in a statement it was working closely with the DOH. The restaurant was hoping to reopen today, according to an HNN report.
A restaurant spokesman could not be reached for comment.
