Crewman rescued from tanker off Oahu
Coast Guard air crews on Saturday medevaced a 31-yearold crewman from the tanker Barcelona Knutsen 13 miles south of Oahu.
The request for the medevac came at 7 p.m. Thursday after the man injured his face while working on a fire extinguisher, the Coast Guard said by email. The vessel was about 575 miles south of Hawaii island at the time.
At 8:27 a.m., an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Barbers Point hoisted the crewman aboard and delivered him in stable condition to Emergency Medical Services personnel at the Daniel K. Inouye International Airport.
