Traditional Horsemanship

Horse & Rider - - Travel -

The NRCHA’s roots trace to the early vaqueros of California. For these cowboys with Spanish and Mexican heritage, a reliable cow horse was a necessity—not a luxury. Their traditional training methods, working in stages with the snaffle bit, hackamore, two-rein, and finally the full bridle, are honored and preserved by the NRCHA’s community.
