After a successful debut and encore, the CINCH Boyd Gaming Chute- Out is gearing up for its third run. From Thursday, December 7 to Saturday, December 9, the Orleans Arena will be the place to be to catch rodeo action in the afternoons, as top athletes and stock square off in Rodeo Week’s newest tradition.
The unique immediate disqualification chute-out format pits competitors against one another each afternoon for three rounds, culminating in a championship event on Saturday with the two highestscoring competitors in each event. Bareback riding, steer wrestling, team roping, saddle bronc riding, tie-down roping, barrel racing and bull riding fill each afternoon with up-close and personal action in the Orleans Arena.
From legendary athletes like Fred Whitfield and Joe Beaver, to many of rodeos top riders and ropers, the ChuteOut brings a unique mix of action and talent. Whitfield won the 2016 Tie-Down Roping Event with a 7.64 time in the final round. Beaver competed in 2016 finishing second in the final round with his healing partner McCoy Profili. These affable talents are fan favorites at the Chute- Out,
greeting fans and signing autographs after each of the performances, along with all the competitors.
Legendary announcers Bob Tallman and Roger Mooney emcee the ChuteOut events with entertainment between events by the PRCA Barrelman, Justin Rumford. Rumford hosts Boyd Gaming’s NFR watch parties every evening at the Orleans, while Beaver co-hosts National Finals Tonight every evening at 10:30 pm, along with Don Gay and Dan Miller. Chute- Out winners get their buckles during the nightly festivities as well.
Central to the Chute- Out experience is its unique app, which gives fans an inhand VIP Pass to all the action. Available for iPhone and Android, the app provides fans with live scoring results, contestant bios, exclusive videos, information on events and instant access to the latest Chute- Out news. And if you’re interested in placing a bet, the Chute- Out will be listed at every Boyd Gaming sportsbook during Rodeo Week.
