Elyson welcomes visitors ahead of Oct. 15 grand opening
Elyson, a new community in the Katy Independent School District, will celebrate its official grand opening in October, but early visitors are already welcome to preview new model homes priced from the mid-$200,000s to $600,000s.
At Grand Parkway and FM529, eight miles north of I-10 west, Elyson offers new homes by Chesmar, Darling, David Weekley, Highland, Perry, Pulte, Trendmaker and Westin.
Many of these leading home builders already have opened fully furnished model homes in Elyson, showcasing features such as rotunda foyers with spiral staircases, outdoor living areas, garage workshops, and open family and kitchen areas.
Elyson home builders also have more than 20 showcase homes under construction, with most to be ready by late fall.
Visitors can also get a sneak peek at Rorick House, the first recreational amenity in Elyson. Located across from Elyson’s Model Home Village, Rorick House will include the community’s visitor welcome center.
Rorick House will also be home to Rorick Kitchen, opening next week and offering homemade pizzas, burgers, smoothies and other treats.
For Elyson residents, Rorick House will be the first destination for fun in a community with a 3,642-acre master plan that devotes more than 750 acres to parks, trails, recreation centers and natural open spaces.
Rorick House will include an event lawn, playgrounds, and a pool with lap lanes, lounging shelves and a beach entry.
The clubhouse will offer a fitness center, meeting rooms, and a game room with ping-pong, shuffleboard, foosball and a big-screen television.
Elyson students will attend the Katy ISD schools, including brand-new Bethke Elementary, which opened last month. Beginning next year, Elyson students are expected to attend new Katy ISD high schools and middle schools now under construction on the tri-campus that includes Bethke Elementary.
