RICHARD RAYMOND PRIGMORE, JR.

Richard R. (Dick, Dicky, D.P.) Prigmore, Jr. passed from this life on his 73rd birthday, February 1, 2017, from complicati­ons of diabetes. He was born in Mexia, Tx and moved to Houston at an early age. He attended Poe Elementary, Lamar Junior and Senior High Schools and played varsity basketball at Lamar, graduating in 1962. During high school he and 3 buddies started the Jokers Wild Rock n’ Roll Band that played extensivel­y in the Houston area for several years. Richard attended Wofford College in Spartanbur­g, S.C., and Southern Methodist University where he was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. After graduating from SMU in 1967, he became a member of the Army Reserve. In 1969 he returned to Houston to begin a career in real estate. He was an avid golfer and member of Houston County Club for many years. In 1990 he formed Appraisal Consultant­s, which he owned and operated until his death.

The Astros, Rockets, Texans and the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo were his passion having had season tickets to all of these for many, many years. His Texans Trailer and 1955 Red Chevy pick-up were well known for the fine tailgating food and hospitalit­y he provided at home games.

Richard was preceded in death by his loving parents Richard R. Prigmore, Sr. and Huberta Berry Prigmore, 2 uncles and aunts, 3 cousins and 5 of his beloved dogs. He is survived by stepsons, Lane M. Robertson and wife, Jennifer of Austin, and Patton B. Roberton and wife, Rebecca of McKinney, grandchild­ren Caroline, Trent, Patton, Jr., Ashley and Gianna and adored dogs Roxie and Sissy.

A memorial service will be held March 3rd, 11am at St. Luke’s Methodist Church Chapel, 3471 Westheimer. His ashes will be interred alongside his parents, at a later date, in the historical Mt. Zion Cemetery in Burton, Tx. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Burton Heritage Society for Mt. Zion Cemetery or Texas A& M Veterinary School Laughing Labs Rescue Ranch.
