TSU grads had it right

Regarding “Canceled speech” (Page A13, Tuesday), it seems hard for some to fathom that our young electorate may be politicall­y aware of U.S. Sen. John Cornyn and his cohorts’ agenda. The Texas Southern University graduates know that this Congress is only concerned with laws that benefit the rich and well-heeled. There are proposed tax cuts for the rich to be paid for by cuts in medical care for the poor, reduced regulation­s, etc. The graduates were right. This would have served as a “photo op” for the senator, who consistent­ly votes against their best interests.
