Backlash grows over Minneapolis woman’s shooting
The Minneapolis police chief was forced out at the mayor’s request Friday, less than a week after one of the city’s officers fatally shot an unarmed Australian woman who had called 911 for help. The fatal shooting of Justine Damond, 40, by officer Mohamed Noor occurred after Noor allegedly was startled by a loud noise just before Damond approached the cruiser. The officer then shot her through an open window. Noor has declined to speak with investigators, and neither Noor nor his partner had turned on his body camera.
