Drive-by shooting leaves two injured

Houston Chronicle Sunday - - CITY | STATE -

Two men were injured overnight in a drive-by shooting in Sunnyside.

The incident happened around 12:15 a.m. Saturday as they sat in a red sedan outside a bar at Reed and Scott.

Someone inside a vehicle driving slowly on Reed opened fire on the men, then sped away.

The injured passenger was hit in the back and arm. At least one bullet struck the driver’s arm, but he managed to navigate the vehicle about 2 miles to a motel at Reed and Almeda for help.

The injured men were found at the motel by Houston police officers and firefighters.

The back window of their vehicle was shot out and bullets riddled the trunk.

Both men, identified by a Houston Police Department sergeant as local rappers, were transported for treatment in stable condition. Their names were not released.

HPD is investigating the incident.

Anyone with information about the shooting is urged to contact HPD’s homicide division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS (8477).
