Katy’s Eller wins trap team event

2008 Olympic gold medal­ist Glenn Eller of Katy teamed with Aeriel

Skin­ner of Jack­son, Calif., to win the trap mixed team event at the USA Shoot­ing na­tional cham­pi­onships in Fort Car­son, Colo.

Eller, a mem­ber of the Army Marks­man­ship Team who has com­peted in five Olympics, and Skin­ner qual­i­fied to com­pete at two In­ter­na­tional Shoot­ing Sports Fed­er­a­tion World Cup events next year in trap mixed team, which will be a new event on the Olympic pro­gram in 2020.

Eller pre­vi­ously com­peted in dou­ble trap, the event in which he won a gold medal in Bei­jing, but that sport has been dropped from the Olympics. Kayle Brown­ing of Wooster, Ark., and Brian

Bur­rows of Fall­brook, Calif., were sec­ond, and two-time Olympic bronze medal­ist Corey Cogdel­lUn­rein of Ea­gle River, Alaska, and Jake Wal­lace of Cas­taic, Calif., were third.
