English manager loses his job
Sam Allardyce has left his position as England manager after only one match in charge after he made a series of damaging comments to undercover reporters.
Allardyce was only hired on July 22 and had a contract through 2018, but the English Football Association says his deal has been terminated “with immediate effect” by mutual consent.
The FA acted swiftly after British newspaper the Daily Telegraph published video of Allardyce appearing to offer advice on how to sidestep an outlawed player transfer practice, and also negotiating a $519,000 public-speaking contract, with reporters posing as businessmen.
