Invest in kids now

Regarding “Year of Texas kids” (Page A33, Sunday), to continue to not provide Texas children with early childhood health intervention, adequate education resources (especially for those with special needs) and not to invest in their future would not only be immoral but it also would result in a generation of Texans without adequate skills with which to support themselves.

It also would result in more overcrowding in prisons and homeless shelters and tax money supporting such institutions that should have been used to support education early on. Alison Tyler, Houston
