Pedregon enjoys a fast run

Cruz Pedregon, who has excelled at this event, ran a career-best 3.897 in the second Funny Car qualifying session.

“It’s only one run, but it’s a big run,” said Pedregon, a three-time winner.

Pedregon won his first Funny Car championship in 1992 and is the only Funny Car driver other than John Force to win a title in the 1990s.
