Truth to power
Regarding “McCain helps president who derided him” (Page A12, Wednesday) when Senator John McCain spoke, we heard a statesman in the United States Senate for the first time in a long time. After living 80 years, never voting party lines, I have to confess that McCain has been my hero since the Vietnam War. His courage and bravery has been an example to all of us, and coming back to Washington after brain surgery, he once again proved his courage under dangerous circumstances.
I am hoping that his vote will encourage all senators to come together and fix what is wrong with the Affordable Care Act. Edward M. Culberson Jr., Sugar Land
