1933-2017

Ray Louis Boehm, 84, passed away peace­fully at home on Septem­ber 1, 2017. He was born to Robert Boehm and Eura Boehm on April 20, 1933 in Sugar Land, Texas.

Ray found pure joy in spend­ing time with his fam­ily and friends and had a pas­sion for the Hous­ton Astros, Tex­ans, and Rock­ets. He was a won­der­ful hus­band, fa­ther, and grand­fa­ther!

Be­ing a mem­ber of Hous­ton’s First Bap­tist Church, Ray had a strong faith in the Lord Je­sus Christ, where he served as a Dea­con and later a Dea­con Emer­i­tus. He shared his pas­sion for the Lord and taught in the Youth De­part­ment for a few years. He even en­joyed play­ing a Dis­ci­ple in the Hous­ton Christ­mas Pageant un­der the di­rec­tion of Ger­ald B. Ray.

Ray was honored to serve his coun­try in the Ma­rine Corps from 1950 to 1954 dur­ing the Korean War, where he re­ceived four medals. Af­ter the ser­vice, Ray at­tended Uni­ver­sity of Hous­ton. He worked for com­pa­nies like In­ter­na­tional Switch­board (di­vi­sion of Ste­wart and Steven­son) and Bay­lor Com­pany as a Sr. Buyer with a spe­cial­iza­tion in the pur­chas­ing of mostly highly tech­ni­cal prod­ucts.

Ray was pre­ceded in death by his par­ents; brothers Car­los Boehm and Wayne Lee Boehm, Sr.

He has left be­hind to cher­ish his mem­ory is his beloved wife of 54 years, Eva J. Boehm; two sons Bran­don Boehm and his wife Carey Boehm of Hous­ton, Texas and Brock Boehm of Seat­tle, Wash­ing­ton; grand­chil­dren Luke and Lily Boehm; step­grand­chil­dren Maken­zie, Bai­ley, and Sawyer Schell­berg; brother Jerry O. Boehm, Sr. and his wife Yvonne (Dee) Boehm of Ar­ling­ton, Texas; sis­ters-in-law Jean Boehm of Sugar Land, Texas and Glo­ria Boehm of Tom­ball, Texas; along with nu­mer­ous nieces and neph­ews whom Un­cle Ray adored.

Vis­i­ta­tion will be held on Fri­day, Septem­ber 15, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Grand View Fu­neral Home, 8501 Spencer High­way Pasadena, Texas 77505 with a Cel­e­bra­tion of Life to im­me­di­ately fol­low at 10:00 a.m. In­ter­ment to fol­low at For­est Park East Ceme­tery.
