Real narrative of protests
Regarding “Pence stages expensive walkout of game after 49ers players kneel” (Page A8, Monday), I am a veteran and see absolutely no connection to the NFL protest and our soldiers. This is about racial injustice, not about the flag and not about the anthem. There is no disrespect for either.
Kaepernick is a courageous young man who took a stand against racial inequality by police and the inability of the criminal justice system to fairly prosecute.
Many have changed his intent to suit their biases.
