Tucker has old home week

- Jonathan Feigen

Rockets forward P.J. Tucker did something on Tuesday he seldom has done in his seven-year NBA career.

Tucker played against a former team for the first time since 2012 on Tuesday and will face his other former team on Thursday

Tucker, who spent 34 games (including the playoffs) with the Raptors last season, faced Toronto at Toyota Center on Tuesday. He will then face the Suns on Thursday for the first time since he was dealt from Phoenix to Toronto last season after spending most of five seasons with the Suns.

The Raptors did not play the Suns last season after Tucker was traded. His only other experience playing against a former team came when he returned to the NBA in 2012-13 after five seasons playing in Europe. He played in 17 games with the Raptors in 2006-07.

Tucker said he places no extra emphasis on facing the Raptors or even the Suns, and did not even notice who was next up on the schedule until this past weekend.

“I don’t think it’s ever really a big deal to players,” Tucker said “At the beginning, you kind of see everybody. Once you start playing, it’s right back to it. It doesn’t cross your mind much.”
