Man charged after child left to walk in street

A 21-year-old man has been charged with endangering the life of a child, accused of letting a 2-year-old he was babysitting walk in the street alone.

Davion Kelly, 21, was charged after the child was found walking in the 19700 block of Waterflower Drive Saturday, the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable's Office said in a news release.

Deputies were told the child had been lost for over 30 minutes, the constable's office wrote. The deputies took the child door-to-door until they identified Kelly, "who appeared to have just woken up," as the child's babysitter, the constable's office added.

Kelly was released from the Harris County Jail on $1,500 bond, the constable's office wrote.
