MORE SPACE FOR SPACES
Spaces has inked deals for two more coworking locations in Houston.
Spaces has inked deals for two more Houston locations that will bring a new coworking component to downtown’s GreenStreet and west Houston’s CityCentre mixed-use development.
The Amsterdam-based company, a division of IWG, has leased 63,000 square feet in GreenStreet, 1201 Fannin, where it will occupy three floors along with a rooftop terrace. GreenStreet, a project of Lionstone Investments and Midway, recently landed global startup incubator MassChallenge for the Boston-based company’s second Texas location.
Spaces will occupy 60,789 square feet in CityCentre One, at 800 Town & Country Blvd. Midway is the developer of CityCentre, a mixed-use project near Beltway 8 and Interstate 10 with offices, stores, restaurants, a hotel and apartments.
Both locations, expected to open late this year, offer access to central lawn areas, restaurants and hotels.
“Spaces is redefining the way work is done, providing a contemporary, social and creative environment with a real focus on community,” Michael Berretta, vice president of network development for IWG, said in an announcement. “Houston is a vibrant city with a global business hub and an entrepreneurial attitude. Spaces gives Houston’s talent pool an inspiring place to work and meet with other people who believe in the power of collaboration to drive a business forward.”
Spaces entered the Houston market last year at Midway’s Kirby Grove building near Levy Park in Upper Kirby. The company also plans to open a 53,000-square-foot Uptown location at Parkway Properties’ Two Post Oak Central in the fourth quarter.
CityCentre will also be the site of Life Time Work, a new coworking concept of Life Time, a Minneapolis-based company focused on fitness and healthy living.
Mike Cleary, Kevin Saxe and Kevin Kushner of CBRE represented Spaces in the leases. Damon Thames, Michael Anderson, Connor Saxe and Vince Strake of Colvill Office Properties represented the landlords.
