Lo­cal fire fight­ers de­ployed to as­sist with wild­fires.

Since Mon­day, more than 20 lo­cal fire fight­ers have been de­ployed to as­sist with the re­cent wild­fires sweep­ing through­out the north­ern re­gion of Cal­i­for­nia.

Late Wed­nes­day af­ter­noon, the State Engine as­signed to the county of Im­pe­rial, which con­sists of four fire fight­ers plus a strike team leader trainee, was re­quested and as­signed to the fire in Napa, ex­plained Im­pe­rial County Fire Chief Tony Rouho­tas, Jr.

Sep­a­rate from the state unit, a team con­sist­ing of 22 per­son­nel was sent to as­sist with the Canyon Fire on Mon­day then was re­as­signed Wed­nes­day night to the LNU Com­plex in Napa, stated Rouho­tas.

The team con­sisted of units from Im­pe­rial County, Braw­ley, Calexico, Holtville and Cali­pa­tria.
