Local fire fighters deployed to assist with wildfires.
Since Monday, more than 20 local fire fighters have been deployed to assist with the recent wildfires sweeping throughout the northern region of California.
Late Wednesday afternoon, the State Engine assigned to the county of Imperial, which consists of four fire fighters plus a strike team leader trainee, was requested and assigned to the fire in Napa, explained Imperial County Fire Chief Tony Rouhotas, Jr.
Separate from the state unit, a team consisting of 22 personnel was sent to assist with the Canyon Fire on Monday then was reassigned Wednesday night to the LNU Complex in Napa, stated Rouhotas.
The team consisted of units from Imperial County, Brawley, Calexico, Holtville and Calipatria.
