CBP O cers discover 106 packages of meth inside spare tire and fuel tank.
Customs and Border Protection officers working at the Calexico West Port of Entry discovered a total of 106 packages of methamphetamine hidden inside two vehicles over the weekend, stated a CBP news release.
At 1:30 am Saturday, officers arrested a 48-year-old female, Mexican citizen and permanent U.S. resident, while driving a black 2003 Toyota Tundra.
During their inspection, officers found 46 wrapped packages of methamphetamine concealed inside the spare tire.
The weight of the narcotic was 48 pounds with a street value of approximately $67,200.
Then at 8:50 p.m. Sunday at the Calexico downtown POE, officers arrested a 27-year-old female while driving a white 2017 Chevy Impala.
CBP officers found 60 wrapped packages of methamphetamine concealed within the fuel tank of the vehicle.
The weight of the narcotic was 55 pounds with a street value of approximately $77,000.
