Holtville woman, three others injured in fiery tra c collision.
A 69-year-old Holtville woman and three others were transported for medical care after being involved in a two-vehicle traffic collision Saturday morning on Interstate 9, stated a California Highway Patrol news release.
Bette Van Der Linden, the sole occupant and driver of one vehicle, sustained major injuries to her body.
The driver of the other vehicle, 23-year-old Tempe, Ariz. resident Cijia Ding, sustained minor injuries.
Ding had two passengers in her vehicle, Malaysia residents Yaqing Ye, 46, and Baijian Ding, 49.
Ye sustained major injuries to her body while Ding sustained minor injuries.
All parties involved were transported by ground ambulance to El Centro Medical Center for care of their injuries, stated the news release.
The incident happened just before noon Saturday. A REACH helicopter landed on the freeway west of this scene, however, no parties were life flown from the scene.
All parties were wearing seatbelts at the time of the collision and driving until the influence was determined to not be a factor, stated the news release.
