Imperial Valley Press - - NEWS -

In two separate incidents, El Centro police officers were able to recover and return stolen vehicles within the same day they were reported stolen, El Centro Police Department call logs stated.

At about 5 p.m. Tuesday, a white 1993 Honda Civic was found near the railroad tracks on North Sixth Street and West Lincoln Avenue. The Civic was previously reported stolen sometime between 1 a.m. Tuesday and 4 a.m. Tuesday from an El Centro residence.

Call logs stated there was no damage done to the vehicle or property missing from the vehicle. The vehicle was removed from ECPD’s stolen vehicle system database and returned to the owner. At about 1 a.m. Thursday, a reporting party notified ECPD that her white, four-door 1992 Honda Accord had just been stolen from her residence in the 500 block of West Hamilton Avenue.

The Accord was eventually found at about 2 a.m. Thursday in an alley south of the 600 block of Olive Avenue. The vehicle was removed from ECPD’s stolen vehicle system and returned to the owner by 3 a.m. Thursday.
