Uber driver caught with drugs

An Uber driver was ar­rested Wed­nes­day for al­leged possession of few ounces of metham­phetamine and co­caine, said the Depart­ment of Pub­lic Safety. Au­thor­i­ties said the sus­pect was iden­ti­fied as César “Doe,” 20.

The driver was stopped at Ci­u­dad Vic­to­ria Street and Te­comán Street at Colo­nia Nueva Esper­anza neigh­bor­hood.

The sus­pect was driv­ing a 2016 Toy­ota Yaris in ex­cess of speed and ig­nor­ing stop signs, the agency re­ported.

Po­lice of­fi­cers ques­tioned the driver, who said he was work­ing.

The agents asked the driver to exit the ve­hi­cle.

Po­lice of­fi­cers found 14 bags with metham­phetamine and one with co­caine.

The sus­pect was ar­rested and turned over to an undis­closed pros­e­cu­to­rial agency.
