Antonio “Muneco” Verdugo Duran, 88, of Brawley passed away peacefully on June 5, 2018.

He was born on December 18, 1929 in unincorpor­ated Westmorlan­d and he lived in Brawley all of his life. He attended Miguel Hidalgo School, and graduated from 8th grade. He worked as an agricultur­e harvester for the United States Department of Agricultur­e for 35 years before retiring. He was married to Amparo Giron in Mexicali, B.C. Antonio had a wonderful life, full and complete with the great loves and great endeavors that make life worth living. He was a great caretaker and was dedicated to the well-being of his family. He was beloved by his children, his grandchild­ren, his parents (now deceased), his sisters and brothers as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Antonio “Muneco” was a great friend to all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife Amparo; his children Carlos Magos, Patricia Robles, Beatriz Duran, and Cecilia Duran; 11 grandchild­ren and 2 great-grandchild­ren, and numerous sisters.

Services will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Frye Chapel in Brawley. Viewing will start at 8 a.m. with services at 9 a.m. and burial to immediatel­y follow at Riverview Cemetery in Brawley.
