FRIEND CLAIMS: Jojo’s a Gold Digger!
Show her the money! Bachelorette Jojo Fletcher may be the one who’s there for the wrong reasons
She had her checklist ready. “I’m looking for a man that is kind, genuine and adventurous. Someone who can make me feel safe and that I can trust,” newly minted Bachelorette Jojo Fletcher, 25, told fans before leaving to film the ABC series. “I just want a husband that’s my best friend and can make me laugh.”
But she left out another major requirement: money. A source close to the Texas native exclusively tells In Touch that when it came time to meet the 26 men vying for her heart, Jojo went straight for the suitors with hefty bank accounts. “Jojo had no interest in pursuing anything with the guys who didn’t have good jobs or a ton of money. She got rid of some really amazing men early on because they weren’t well-off,” says the source. “Her goal in life is to have nice things and
live an easy life. When it comes to finding a husband, the only thing she cares about is money. She’s a gold digger.”
Jojo proves that on the very first night. The brunette beauty was obsessed with Jordan Rodgers, 27 (above left), the younger brother of NFL superstar Aaron Rodgers, from the second he got out of the limo. “Jojo freaked out when she found out Aaron’s little brother was going to be on the show — even without meeting him, she knew he was the perfect guy for her because he’s from a rich and famous family,” says the source, adding that Jojo fantasized about going on double dates with Aaron, 32, and his girlfriend, actress Olivia Munn, 35, while living the glamorous life with Jordan, a retired NFL player himself. (Maybe that’s why he got the first make-out session of the season!) “Jojo was totally seeking Jordan out from the get-go,” adds the source. “She gave him all of her attention.”
But he wasn’t the only one. Guys like well-known Nashville, Tenn., radio DJ Wells Adams, 31 (above center), and Chad Johnson, 28 (above right), a luxury real estate agent who once boasted that he makes “more money than anybody I know around my age,” got showered with roses — while bluecollar contenders got the boot. “As soon as she realized that a guy didn’t have a ton of money, she’d send him home and blame it on a lack of chemistry,” says the source. “She got rid of guys who in most people’s opinion would be considered successful. We’re talking guys with stable jobs who could absolutely support themselves and their families. But it just wasn’t enough for Jojo. She really doesn’t want to have a middle-class lifestyle.”
She’s used to the finer things. The daughter of two very successful doctors, material possessions have always been important to Jojo. “She tries to make it seem like she’s this chill, easygoing girl, but she’s incredibly high-maintenance and superficial,” says the source, adding that Jojo’s newfound fame since appearing on season 20 of The Bachelor have only made things worse: “Jojo feels like she’s a celebrity and that she’s entitled to a lavish lifestyle — she wants a fortune with very little work.” ◼
