He Was the One! It’s over! Taylor Swift is crushed after Calvin Harris tells her things are moving too fast

In Touch (USA) - - Split news -

The signs were there. On May 30, Calvin Harris posted a cryptic message to Snapchat. “F--- it,” the Scottish DJ captioned a snapshot of himself, sitting alone in a car. Fans assumed the vulgar message was referring to the bruises on his head following a scary car crash a week earlier — or the fact that he had to cancel several shows as he recovered. They had no idea the post may have been about his girlfriend, Taylor Swift.

Make that ex-girlfriend. Two days later, Calvin, 32, and Taylor, 26, called it quits after 15 months. “He is the one who ended it,” a source tells In Touch exclusively. “He just didn’t feel like they were on the same page anymore when it came to their relationship. He’s a normal, easygoing guy who would rather stay out of the limelight — pretty much the exact opposite of Taylor.” Adds a music insider, “Taylor’s enormous team of handlers only added to their issues. It got to the point where she wasn’t fun to hang out with anymore.”

The singer, who has a history of being unlucky in love, was caught completely off guard. “They had been talking marriage for a while and were even planning to wed this summer,” says a friend of Calvin’s. “But that was part of the problem. He felt like they were rushing into things and was concerned by how fast Taylor was moving. He had no other option but to say goodbye.”

Taylor was crushed. “When Calvin told her it was over, she was in denial,” says another insider. She had trouble accepting it, thinking he would change his mind, but when he didn’t, she broke

down, the other insider says.

Those close to her tried to soften the pain. Taylor’s team attempted to spin news of the split in her favor, claiming that Calvin, a Grammy winner who was named the world’s highestpaid DJ in 2014 and has a net worth estimated at $110 million, was somehow intimidated by Taylor’s success. But sources insist that couldn’t be further from the truth. “Calvin’s the biggest name in EDM [electronic dance music] right now,” notes his friend. “Rumors that he was intimidated by Taylor are laughable.”

And infuriating to Calvin. “He wanted to keep this breakup clean and mature,” but he feels like it’s starting to become messy, says the other insider. Although Calvin’s friend believes Taylor will not be writing a song about their bitter split, the “I Knew You Were Trouble” singer is notorious for her juicy breakup songs, and some are wondering if she’s going to try to get the last word.

Nothing is stopping Calvin from dishing, if that’s the path he chooses. A second source tells In Touch that unlike Tay’s past loves who signed nondisclosure agreements, Calvin was exempt — meaning he’s free to spill all of her secrets. “Taylor’s nervous,” adds the second source. She shouldn’t be, though. “Calvin says he isn’t the type of guy to kiss and tell.”

Shockingly, friends still hold out hope they could get back together. But “Taylor is insisting that she’s swearing off men,” the source says. “She’s tired of being burned by the guys she lets into her life.” She thought Calvin was the one she’d wind up spending her life with, a source close to Taylor adds, “and if she can’t have him, she’s not sure she wants anyone else.” ◼

CAN’T SHAKE IT OFF “Taylor has barely eaten or slept since Calvin ended it,” says a source close to the singer. “Her friends are very worried.”
