NO ONE EATS ON DATES

“Nobody likes talking with their mouth full,” says Courtney Robertson (with Ben Flajnik on season 16). Instead, producers often give contestants food before a big date so viewers don’t have to hear participants chew!

ROSE CEREMONIES TAKE FOREVER TO FILM

Season 17’s Sean Lowe calls them “exhausting.” While we only see a few seconds of each handoff on TV, there can be five minutes between each rose because 15 cameras have to reposition. Says Sean: “That first night lasts until 7 a.m.”

A REAL FAMILY LIVES IN THE BACHELOR MANSION

“They move out, the show films, and they move back in,” says Peyton Wright Lambton, who vied for Andy Baldwin’s heart on season 10. “I took a tour one day and the producer was like, ‘That’s the little girl’s room.’”

THERE ARE PSYCH EVALUATIONS

A former Bachelor star says a shrink evaluates each contestant. Once they’re eliminated, “The therapist is sent back to make sure they’re OK.” Season six’s Ali Fedotowsky (above) sure needed a session!

BOOZE IS ALWAYS FLOWING

Jordan Branch (season 19) blamed her drunken behavior with Chris Soules on Bachelor producers, claiming they manipulated contestants by constantly refreshing their glasses.

CONTESTANTS HAVE TO BE CAMERA-READY 24/7

Fans took note when season 19’s Chris Soules woke up Britt Nilsson at 4: 30 a.m. for an early-morning balloon ride (above) and she was in full makeup. Her red lipstick wasn’t even smudged!
