THE TRUTH ABOUT SELMA’S SAD SPIRAL

In Touch (USA) - - Baby watch -

Selma Blair’s midair meltdown on a flight from Cancun, Mexico, to LA on June 20 led to her hospitalization and a public apology. But In Touch has learned the real story behind the shocking incident: The actress, 44, fell off the wagon while vacationing in Mexico with ex-boyfriend Jason Bleick and their son, Arthur, 4. “Selma had quit drinking alcohol for three years,” a source reveals, “but when she went to Mexico she started again.” Selma also suffers from depression, says the source, and mixing booze with her medications turned out to be disastrous. “She made the decision to stop drinking to try to improve her life and because she is so devoted to her son,” says the source. “But the trip to Mexico was her undoing. It was bound to end in disaster.”

“I am a flawed human being who makes mistakes,” Selma said after the plane incident (right).
