Ray Donovan star Steven Bauer, who has long struggled with addiction issues and been in and out of rehab, has voluntarily checked into a Malibu treatment center, In Touch has learned exclusively. “In recent months, he realized he was starting to drink more than he was comfortable with,” his reps tell In Touch. “He preemptively wanted to take care of the issue. But in no uncertain terms does he take drugs, nor is he being treated for a drug-related addiction.” One big reason Steven, 59, made the move? “He says the producers of Ray Donovan gave him an ultimatum: complete a 30-day program or he’s off the show,” says a source. “He loves working on Ray Donovan and wants everyone to know he’s back on the straight and narrow.” He has tons of support. “His mom, son Alexander [with Melanie Griffith] and girlfriend, Lyda Loudon, have been there for him,” adds the source. “He’s serious about staying sober.”

“Steven told friends his life depends on this,” says a source.
