Melissa Etheridge needs to shut her mouth. That was the message the Grammy-winning musician got from Angelina’s camp after she publicly discussed the actress’ man-stealer reputation and contentious split from Brad in an Oct. 3 radio interview. Two days later during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live, Melissa, 55 — who performed at Brad’s 2000 wedding to Jennifer Aniston — revealed she’d received a call from Angelina’s “fixer” with a “subtle warning” to cool it following Melissa’s comments about Angelina and how she “was around when Angelina was not doing nice things with Billy Bob [Thornton, above] to [his then-fiancée] Laura Dern.” Melissa also said that having been through her own high-profile divorces, she was upset to see how the Brangelina custody drama was playing out. The singer said she hadn’t talked to Brad since he hooked up with Angelina (“We all lost a friend”). Melissa added: “I’ve gone through family courts … and I know it really well, and I know when there’s some forethought to just how mean and just how you’re going to put disinformation out there first.”
