WHO WILL NEGAN KILL NEXT?
It turned out to be more shocking than fans expected. On the Oct. 23 season seven premiere of The Walking Dead, villain Negan offed two characters with his bat, Lucille: Glenn (Steven Yeun) and Abraham (Michael Cudlitz). “We wanted to send a clear message that we are just getting started,” says executive producer Robert Kirkman. No doubt that means the killing spree Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) is on is far from over. But who’s next?
Maggie is pregnant, but that doesn’t make her safe in Walking Dead land, especially because she threatened Negan right after her husband’s death. “There’s such a fire burning so strong in her belly,” says actress Lauren Cohan. But she hasn’t been spotted on set much this season, and her social media posts indicate that she was vacationing when filming was taking place near Atlanta in May, which doesn’t bode well for her character’s revenge plans.
Those who follow the comic may think they know Spencer’s fate ( he asks Negan to kill Rick; Negan kills Spencer instead), but Austin Nichols warns fans that anything can happen. “You never know what happens on the show,” he says. “Things change.”
Norman Reedus’ character may seem least likely to die, but at the end of the premiere, he was being dragged off by Negan’s men. Still, if the actor has his way, Daryl’s exit will be different. “I’d like him to just walk away into the woods,” he says. “He came in that way, I think he should go out that way.”
SPOILER ALERT! “I’m a fan of Steven [Yeun] and Michael [Cudlitz],” says actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan. “I didn’t want to see them go, either.” MAGGIE SPENCER DARYL
