Fixer Upper’s Chip and Joanna Gaines may need to do repairs on their new memoir. In the HGTV stars’ book, The Magnolia Story, Joanna, 38, and Chip, 42, reveal that shortly after their son Drake, now 11, was born, Chip was arrested because of unpaid tickets for letting their three dogs run around without a leash. “They never bothered anyone, certainly never bit anyone or even came close,” he insists in the book. But as it turns out, two people say the Gaines’ dogs attacked them around that time, leaving both victims with puncture wounds on their calves. (The pooches were quarantined after the incidents.) The first attack happened on Aug. 22, 2005, according to a police incident report obtained exclusively by In Touch. The victim, a young boy, was riding his bike near Joanna and Chip’s home in Waco, Texas, when suddenly “a dog came out of the yard and bit [ him] on the calf.” A little over a year later, there was another incident. On Dec. 8, 2006, a UPS worker was approaching the couple’s home when “a dog came from around the house” and began “growling and barking fiercely” and “bit her,” states another police report. Terrified, the victim “threw a box at the dog, hit the dog with a stick and ran back to her truck.”

“It was too crowded in [our] house to keep three dogs inside all the time, so we’d let those dogs out to roam,” Chip admits in the couple’s book,
