MARTHA VS. JOANNA IT’S ON!
In one corner, reigning domestic doyenne Martha Stewart; in the other, shiplap queen Joanna Gaines…there’s a turf war brewing between the home-goods gurus! Not only is the Fixer Upper star’s new magazine, The Magnolia Journal (which always features her on the cover), threatening to outshine Martha Stewart Living (which just underwent a redesign to make it more Martha-centric), but Jo’s also expanding her Magnolia lifestyle brand to Target, which has long carried Martha’s brand of crafting, bedding and other products. “Martha is always watching over her shoulder, checking out the latest crop of competition,” an insider tells In Touch. And since parlaying
their Texas-based remodeling business, Magnolia Homes, into the hit HGTV show in 2013, Joanna, 39, and husband Chip have built a devoted following. Martha, 76, “recognizes Joanna’s style,” the insider adds. “That’s why she secretly worries.” Above, In Touch takes a look at how these lifestyle moguls match up.
