Carrie Underwood left many concerned fans confused on April 4 when she shared on Instagram a pic (above) of her at work in the studio. “Where’s the scar?” asked one who was expecting to see a dramatic mark on the left side of the singer’s face. Carrie suffered a fall in November at her Nashville home that left her with a broken wrist and 40 to 50 stitches in her face. On New Year’s Eve, the “Undo It” singer, 35, took to her fan club website to express her fears about her appearance and warn everyone that when she returned to the public eye, she “might look a bit different” thanks to the “gruesome” accident. She also lamented that a “freak random accident can change your life.” Some fans weren’t confused; they were angry. “Vanity at its finest,” scoffed one, while another said, “As a nurse, I can say no one has 50 stitches in their face and four months later, no scars.” A few even theorized that Carrie had elective plastic surgery and lied about it because she didn’t like the results and had to wait until it could be fixed. Adding to the mystery: In December, a month after the accident, Carrie posed for a photo with Below Deck’s Adrienne Gang (above) — and showed no sign of facial trauma. Whatever the truth is, Carrie’s facing unprecedented backlash. “Come on, she’s milking it,” said one unimpressed fan. “Either show what happened to you to help others going through something similar or keep it private. I hate to say it, but this game is annoying.”

On April 4, Carrie showed the left side of her face in this Instagram pic — and the internet went wild over the lack of an obvious scar.
