MAKEOVER MAGIC!
Things just keep getting better! Lives are changed on the inspirational second season of this refreshing reboot. The premiere finds Queer Eye’s already iconic team of experts — Jonathan for grooming, Antoni for food, Tan for fashion, Bobby for design and Karamo for culture — heading off to Gay, Ga., ( population: 89) to make over…a woman! (Cue the jokes: “I haven’t done a woman in years! I’ve never done a woman!”) The team gets these innuendos out of the way before meeting Tammy, a sweet church usher who helps the housebound but often is too busy to help herself. (This episode is emotional for Bobby, who has trouble with entering a church because it triggers painful memories of feeling spurned for his sexuality while growing up.) Later in the season, we meet Skyler, the show’s first-ever trans man makeover subject. It’s an eye-opening experience for Tan, who’s never met a trans person before and is eager to learn — and Skyler is willing to help teach him. It’s this type of beautiful breakthrough that turns Queer Eye into Tear Eye!
