People can suffer from genuine separation anxiety when parted with their iPhones, according to a study published in January by the University of Missouri. Participants showed immediate signs of distress when completing word puzzles without their iPhones. The study found decreased performance and a significant increase in anxiety, heart rate, and blood pressure when separated, revealing just how addicted we've become to technology.
