Setting Up Apple Pay
To add a card to your account, open the Wallet app and tap the plus icon next to the Apple Pay symbol or open Wallet & Apple Pay in Settings and tap Add Credit or Debit Card. If you already have a card associated with your Apple ID, enter the card's security code. For other cards, use your iPhone's camera to scan the card or select Enter Card Details Manually. You will have to go through a verification process determined by your bank or card holder. Once complete, you'll be able to use Apple Pay to make payments at participating locations simply by holding your iPhone next to the reader while placing your finger on the Touch ID sensor. See if a Location in Maps Accepts Apple Pay
It may have taken some time, but Apple Pay is now accepted in more than a million stores worldwide. If you'd like to find out whether Apple Pay is available at a location you plan to visit, you can check in Maps first, so you can arrive prepared.
To get started, open Maps and search for your location. Tap on the name of the business. A page will pop up providing basic business information such as the store's number, web address, and hours of operation. Look next to Category and Price. If you see the Apple Pay logo, you can leave your wallet at home.
You don't have to open the Wallet app or wait until you're near a contactless reader to active Apple Pay—all you have to do is double tap the Home button and you'll be ready to pay once you move to the front of the line. First, you'll need to enable this feature by going to Settings and selecting Wallet & Apple Pay. Scroll down to the heading Allow Access When Locked and turn on Double-Click Home Button. Once you've added cards to your Wallet and enabled this feature, just double-click the Home button and you'll be ready to make purchases. Use Apple Pay on Your Apple Watch
If you're a lucky owner of an Apple Watch, you can make mobile payments right from your wearable. Apple Pay is one of the watch's stand-alone features, meaning it works even if you're not connected to your iPhone via Bluetooth. Before you get started, you'll need to set up Apple Pay on your watch, regardless of whether or not you already use Apple Pay on your other iOS devices.
To do this, open the Watch app on your iDevice. Under the My Watch menu, tap Wallet & Apple Pay, and follow the on-screen instructions. Once you've verified your card with the bank, you'll receive a notification on your watch informing you that Apple Pay is ready to use.
