Organize Your Apps
If you're new to the Apple TV, something as simple as rearranging your apps might seem daunting. Fortunately, doing so is pretty easy since it mirrors the same process you use on your iPhone or iPad. To rearrange apps, identify the app you want to move or delete. On your Siri Remote, press and hold the touchpad (if you have an older Apple TV model, press and hold Select) to make the app icon jiggle. Next, use the touchpad to drag it to a new location and then press to make your change. To delete or hide an app that's jiggling, press the Play/ Pause button and then press the touchpad to confirm your action. Quickly Adjust Video and App Settings
While watching a video, you can view settings by swiping down from the top of the Siri Remote touchpad on your fourth generation Apple TV. A window will appear with options to view more information about the movie, turn on subtitles, and adjust audio so that loud sounds are suppressed and dialog is clearer. You can also select a different speaker. Once you're done, simply swipe up to close the window. This method of accessing settings also works for select apps, such as Periscope. To change settings on older Apple TV models, you must navigate to the Settings app from the main menu. Control Music and Video Playback
When watching a video, swipe left or right on the touchpad to jump back or forward (available on fourth generation Apple TV). Press the left side of the touchpad to go back 10 seconds; press the right side to go forward 10 seconds; press and hold the left side to rewind; and press and hold the right side to fastforward. When listening to music, hold down the left side of the touchpad to rewind and the right side to fast-forward. Press the left side of the touchpad twice to go back a track, the right side once to skip forward a song, and press and hold the touchpad and swipe up to see the rest of the album. Set Up Your Apple Watch as an Apple TV Remote
To set up your watch to control your Apple TV, first make sure that your iPhone is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Apple TV. Then open the Remote app on your watch and tap Add Device. On your Apple TV, go to Settings > General > Remotes and select your watch. Enter the 4-digit passcode that appears on the watch face, and then wait to see the Apple TV icon appear on your watch screen. You can swipe on your watch to navigate through menu options. Besides a Play/ Pause button, you will control the TV mainly with swipes and taps. To visit the previous menu, tap the screen. Tap and hold to return to the top menu.
