SIMPLIFY YOUR LIFE BY ALLOWING YOUR APPS & DEVICES TO WORK TOGETHER
IFTTT (If This Then That) is one of the most powerful and useful apps you can use on your iOS device. It provides a way for your apps and devices to work together via IFTTT's Applets, which bring apps together and allow them to trigger certain actions. You can easily browse pre-made Applets by tapping the Discover tab along the bottom. You'll see Applets made for a variety of purposes (want your Instagram posts to automatically be saved as a journal entry? There's an Applet for that!). If you click Search on the bottom of the screen, you can also look for specific Applets by keyword. When you find one that you like, select it and then tap Turn On. Create Your Own Applets
What if the Applet you want doesn't exist? That's okay. You can make your own! Maybe you want to upload a photo to Instagram and have it automatically upload to a specific Facebook folder too. To do this, go to My Applets, then click the plus icon at the top right. Now press “+this,” and search for Instagram. Click “Any new photo by you with specific hashtag,” fill out the hashtag, and click next. Press the blue “+that” and search for Facebook. Select Facebook, and then select “Upload a photo from URL.” All the specifics will already be filled out for you, and you can change the album name at the bottom. Click next, then click Finish. Turn Off & Delete Applets
Want to turn an Applet off temporarily? That's easy. Just tap on My Applets at the bottom of the screen, then select the Applet you would like to turn off. Toggle it off. For instance, this Applet would upload any new photo I took from my iPhone and back it up to my Google Drive. To turn the Applet back on, I would simply toggle it on. You can permanently delete an Applet by going to My Applets, selecting the one you want to delete, and then tapping the Settings icon in the upper right. Now scroll down and select Delete. If you want to change or adjust the Applet, you can do that from this screen as well. Change All Your Social Media Profile Pictures
When you update your profile picture on Facebook, would you like to easily change it across your social media accounts all in one step? With IFTTT, you can! To do this, simply create a new Applet by navigating to My Applets and tapping the plus icon. Tap “+this” and select Facebook. Choose Your Profile Changes, then select Profile Picture from the dropdown box. Tap next. Now tap “+then,” search for Twitter, and tap Update Profile Picture.
Save Songs to Spotify or Selfies to Day One
With the help of Applets, you can automatically add songs you like on YouTube to your Spotify account or add selfies you take to your Day One journal app. You do this by navigating to My Applets and tapping the plus icon. To add music, select YouTube when you tap “+this,” then choose New Liked Video. After tapping Next and “+then,” select Spotify and then Add to Spotify. Fill out the details and finish off as before. To automatically upload selfies to Day One, instead select iOS Photos when you tap “+this,” and choose New Photo with the Front Camera. Then select Day One after tapping “+that.” Click Create Journal Entry and fill out the details.
