Fem­i­nism: The be­lief that women and men should have equal po­lit­i­cal, so­cial and eco­nomic rights. If you be­lieve men and women should be treated equally, you are a fem­i­nist. Sex­ism: Dis­crim­i­na­tion, prej­u­dice, stereo­typ­ing, or un­fair treat­ment based on a per­son’s sex. Both women and men can be vic­tims of sex­ism. Misog­yny: To hate, dis­trust or think less of women based solely on their gen­der. It can be prac­ticed by men and women.

Dou­ble stan­dard: A prin­ci­ple or rule that is ap­plied dif­fer­ently and un­fairly to two dif­fer­ent groups of peo­ple. It’s of­ten seen in the dif­fer­ences in stan­dards set for men com­pared to women.
