Police seek help after Dale’s Jewelry burglarize­d Sunday

SPD says suspects fled in Mazda CX-7

The Sterling Police Department is asking for the public’s help after a break-in at Dale’s Jewelry in downtown Sterling.

According to a post on the SPD’S Facebook page Monday, officers responded to an alarm at the jewelry store Sunday night at 10:25 p.m.

“Upon arrival, officers observed three individual­s (unknown male or female) wearing dark clothing running from the area and got into a black Mazda CX-7 near Main St. and Second Street,” the post states. The vehicle fled north on Second Street and was not stopped.

The vehicle appeared to have a Colorado temporary license plate, the SPD noted.

The SPD shared sample images of the vehicle’s make and model, noting that they are not of the actual suspect vehicle. They asked that anyone with informatio­n about the burglar y to call the SPD at 970-522-3512, or Crime Stoppers at 970-522-EYES (3937).
