Instructions: Cross stitch over two threads using two strands of floss.

Finishing Materials & Instructions

• One 4"x 4"x 2" block of plastic foam

• One 4"x 8"x 2" block of plastic foam

• Quilt batting

• 3/4 yard coordinating cotton fabric

• One sheet 1/8"-thick foam- core board

• 11/2 yards 11/2"-wide coordinating ribbon

• Flat-head straight pins

• 8 yellow pony beads

• 8 round green pearl-head straight pins (for feet)

• White craft glue

• Craft knife

Press stitched pieces from reverse side, straightening as much as possible. Trim each stitched piece to 11/2" from stitching on all sides.

Using small plastic foam block as a template, cut two pieces of foam-core board the same size as front and back of block using craft knife. Cut two pieces of foam-core board to cover top and bottom of block including edges of front and back foam-core pieces. Cut two pieces of foamcore board to cover sides of block including edges of foam-core front, back, top and bottom pieces, completely enclosing plastic foam block.

Pushing flat-head pins completely into craft foam, pin front and back foam-core pieces to block. Pin top and bottom foam-core pieces to top and bottom of block; pin side foam-core pieces to sides.

From quilt batting, cut two pieces the same size as front/ back. Glue one piece of batting to front and one to back of block.

Center Shamrock stitched design on front of block. Fold excess linen at top over top of block; pin with flat-head pins to secure. Repeat to fold back and pin excess linen on bottom and sides. Repeat with Egg design on back of small block.

Measure perimeter of small block. Adding 1" to length and doubling width, cut one piece of coordinating fabric to size. Fold long edges of fabric strip to center, wrong sides facing; press flat. Fold under 1/4" at each end of strip; press. Pin end of strip in place at bottom left corner of block; wrap strip around block until beginning point is reached; pin to secure.

Measure perimeter of small block. Add 1" to that measurement and cut one piece of 11/2"-wide ribbon to that length. Wrap ribbon around block, starting and pinning at bottom center.

For “feet,” insert one yellow pony bead with one green pearl-head pin into each corner of block bottom.

Repeat entire procedure for Lucky and Hunt stitched pieces, using large plastic foam block and adjusting all measurements as needed.
