IN AN ENGLISH COUNTRY GARDEN Lorna Bateman, instructor
A multitude of 3-D, raised and textured stitches will fill an embroidery garden that is unique to each student. A needlebook and scissors keeper are among the accessory pieces that can be transformed with stranded and pearl cotton floss, metallic thread and organdy.
HERBACEOUS BORDERS PINCUSHION Lorna Bateman, instructor
A garden-themed pincushion will be created with a variety of surface embroidery stitches in this early-bird class that complements the projects from In an English Country Garden.
MINIKIN Jackie du Plessis, instructor
This definitive reticule in the shape of a chalise is adorned with silk stitched blooms and finished into a hand-carry sized drawstring silk pouch. A sampling needlecase booklet that fits into the reticule will complete the project.
1715 MARY AIKEN REPRODUCTION SAMPLER Margriet Hogue, instructor
This Rhode Island sampler is the oldest one known to include the specific bands in the design. Worked on 35-count linen, the sampler measures 13¼" x 19¼". Class includes a presentation about the history of this New England treasure.
MY NEEDLE’S WORKE SAMPLER/HUSWIF Ellen Chester, instructor
This original design can be stitched as a sampler and framed or made into a folded needlework case. A coordinating needlebook case completes the project. Photo shows inside of huswif.
OLIVIA AND HER SAMPLER WITH SHAKER BOX Ellen Chester, instructor
Dupioni silk fabric, 36-count linen and silk threads are used to create a scissors case and needlebook that will fit in a wooden box featuring an embroidered bottom. This early-bird class includes a handmade Shaker Box.

This compartmentalized-style sampler has nine octagonal cartouches surrounded by a luscious strawberry vine border. This early-bird class project will be stitched on 36-count linen with silk threads.

This British sampler will be reproduced on 40-count linen. Stitches for this early-bird class include cross, cross over one and satin.
QUAKER CHRISTMAS NEEDLEROLL & ACCESSORIES Pam Lewis and Susan Rohm, instructors
Stitched on 32-count linen, Quaker motifs and sentiments of the Christmas season are stitched on this sweet needleroll that includes a personalized pocket, a pinball, a scissors sheath and a beaded fob. Scissors, waxer and stitch counter are included.

Using two weights of silk thread, this 6½" by 17" band sampler incorporates both raised and pulled stitches to create a lovely, fun-to-stitch, textured piece of needlework. Silk-ribbon, surface and beaded embroidery are combined with simple stumpwork techniques in this garden-inspired sampler.
