six-strand em­broi­dery floss* • Size 24 ta­pes­try nee­dle *See Where to Find It on page 110.

In­struc­tions: Cross stitch over one square us­ing two strands of floss.

Back­stitch over one square us­ing one strand of floss.

Work French knot where ap­pears for nail heads in fence us­ing two strands 310/0007 and wrap­ping floss around nee­dle twice.

Fin­ish­ing Ma­te­ri­als & In­struc­tions

• 14" x 14" piece co­or­di­nat­ing cot­ton

fab­ric • 2 yards co­or­di­nat­ing pip­ing • Polyester fiber­fill • Hand-sewing nee­dle • Co­or­di­nat­ing sewing thread • Sewing ma­chine (op­tional)

Press stitched piece from re­verse side, straight­en­ing as much as pos­si­ble. Trim stitched piece to 3" from stitch­ing on all sides.

Pin pip­ing to the front of stitched piece; baste in place.

Pin stitched piece to cot­ton fab­ric, right sides to­gether. Sew to­gether us­ing a 1/2" seam al­lowance and leav­ing a 5" open­ing for turn­ing.

Trim ex­cess fab­ric if nec­es­sary; turn pil­low right side out and press seams. Stuff pil­low with fiber­fill. Us­ing a hand­sewing nee­dle and thread, blind-stitch open­ing closed.
