In­struc­tions: Cross stitch over one square us­ing two strands of floss.

Work French knot for W snake’s eye where ap­pears us­ing two strands 317/8705 and wrap­ping floss around nee­dle twice.

Work back­stitch over one square us­ing one strand of floss un­less oth­er­wise noted.

Fin­ish­ing Ma­te­ri­als & In­struc­tions

• Felt: gray, black • DMC® em­broi­dery floss: blanc, 310, 740 • 48" or­ange rick­rack • White craft glue

Trim stitched Aida pan­els to mea­sure 35 squares wide by 34 squares high, cen­ter­ing de­sign. Cut seven 3" x 31/2" pan­els each from gray and black felt. Pin a stitched piece to each gray felt panel ap­prox­i­mately 1/4" from bot­tom edge. Us­ing one strand 310, back­stitch stitched pieces to gray felt pan­els, work­ing back­stitch three squares from edges.

Pin gray felt pan­els to black felt pan­els wrong sides fac­ing. Sew felt panel pairs to­gether us­ing blanc and run­ning stitch. Fringe edges of stitched pan­els by pulling threads from out­er­most two squares of Aida; fluff ex­posed threads to fringe.

Ar­range com­pleted pan­els in or­der on work sur­face 1" apart and with top edges even. Cen­ter or­ange rick­rack over top of felt pan­els. Us­ing one strand 740, stitch rick­rack to pan­els to join them, re­fer­ring to photo as needed.
