Press stitched piece from re­verse side, straight­en­ing as much as pos­si­ble. Trim stitched piece to 2" from ver­ti­cal sides, 13/4" from bot­tom and 2" from top.

Fold top of stitched piece down 1/4" to right side; press. Sew close to edge. Fold top edge un­der an­other 1/4" to right side and baste in place.

Fold top of lin­ing piece over 1/4" and sew to keep from fray­ing. Place lin­ing piece in cen­ter of re­verse side of stitched piece. Fold stitched piece over bot­tom and two sides of lin­ing. Press. Baste to­gether and press again. Place stitched piece on bot­tom right cor­ner of place mat, right side up, leav­ing 1" of place mat on right side and bot­tom. Stitch pocket to place mat. Re­move bast­ing stitches Rose Hip Berries Flat­ware Pocket

Press stitched piece from re­verse side, straight­en­ing as much as pos­si­ble. Trim stitched piece to 11/2" from sides, 1" from top and bot­tom.

Stitch the top edge of stitched piece with but­ton­hole stitch. Place two back panel pieces right sides to­gether. Stitch sides and top edge us­ing 1/4" seam al­lowance. Turn right side out. Press. Turn in edges of bot­tom edge and stitch across bot­tom edge.

Cen­ter lin­ing piece on re­verse side of stitch­ing. Fold the sides and bot­tom un­der 1/4". Baste and press.

Place lined stitched piece at lower end of back panel, wrong side down. Baste along sides. Top­stitch 1/4" all around, be­gin­ning at cen­ter bot­tom of pocket, along side to cen­ter top of back panel. Clip threads close to stitch­ing. Com­plete top­stitch­ing by stitch­ing from cen­ter bot­tom to cen­ter top on re­main­ing side.
