In­struc­tions: Cross stitch over two threads us­ing two strands of floss.

Back­stitch over two threads us­ing one strand of floss, un­less oth­er­wise noted.

Work straight stitch for wand shine us­ing two strands 727/289. Í

Work French knot where ap­pears for caul­dron bub­bles us­ing two strands 310/403 and wrap­ping floss around nee­dle twice. Fin­ish­ing Ma­te­ri­als & In­struc­tions • Thin card­board • Padded mount­ing board • 3/8 yard co­or­di­nat­ing fab­ric • 20" piece 16- gauge black craft wire • One 12" length each or­ange, pur­ple

and green rib­bon • Craft glue • Hot- glue gun • Wire cut­ters Re­fer to Flat-Or­na­ment Fin­ish­ing In­struc­tions on page 62.

Re­fer­ring to the project photo, bend the cen­ter of the craft wire into a heart shape, cross­ing ends to form an arch shape. Trim ends even to de­sired hang­ing length. Set aside.

Us­ing fin­ished or­na­ment as a tem­plate, cut a piece of card­board 1/2" larger on all sides than or­na­ment. Cut two pieces of co­or­di­nat­ing fab­ric 1" larger than card­board. Cen­ter one piece of fab­ric wrong side down on card­board. Fold edges to back of card­board, mi­ter­ing corners. Glue edges of fab­ric to back of card­board.

With sec­ond piece of fab­ric, fold edges back so that this piece fits over fab­ric on back of card­board. Press edges of fab­ric. Set aside.

Place hanger at top back of card­board. Hot-glue ends of hanger to card­board. Cover back of card­board that has hanger at­tached with sec­ond piece of fab­ric, glu­ing fab­ric down. ( Be sure to cover ends of hanger,)

Glue stitched or­na­ment to cen­ter of fab­ric-cov­ered card­board.

Tie the three rib­bons in a bow around cen­ter of wire; trim ends as needed.
