Backstitch over one square using two strands of floss. Finishing Materials & Instructions • 6"x 6" piece dark- color cardstock
for backing • Three small (8mm) paper fasteners • Jewelry hemp or coordinating cord
for hanging • White glue • Large crewel needle Carefully trim away excess perforated paper one full row beyond stitching for each piece.
Cut one 8" length of jewelry hemp or coordinating cord and set aside.
Carefully apply thin layer of glue to the back of each stitched piece and place on cardstock, leaving room between each piece and making sure pieces lie flat. Place a weight on top and allow glue to dry completely.
When glue is dry, carefully trim cardstock just beyond the perforated paper, making sure to leave a tab at the top of the head to provide a place for hanging hole (refer to photo).
Referring to chart and photo as necessary, pierce both layers at unstitched. Using large crewel needle, carefully poke holes through the center of each space that was not stitched. With fasteners, join torso, arms and tail to "belly button" hole at top of hips. To make hanger, fold the cord in half and tie an overhead knot in the loose ends. Slip folded end through the top hanging hole. Pull the knot between the two strands and pull snug.
